Q. How can I add a new event to the calendar?
A. New regional Single Adult events can be added to the calendar on
this website only if they are officially sponsored by a stake under
the direction and approval of the sponsoring stake presidency. If
your stake sponsors a new Single Adult event to which singles from
other stakes in the region are invited, your stake High Councilor for
Single Adults can email the details to Michael Wightman, Centreville
Stake High Councilor/SACC Executive Secretary at
michael_wightman@verizon.net. The email should indicate that the
event has been planned under priesthood direction and has the approval of your stake presidency, and should include the stake president or his counselor in the distribution list. Brother Wightman will then notify the Centreville Stake Presidency and direct the Webmaster to post the event on the site. This simple procedure will help safeguard
the trustworthiness of the site and its postings, and will ensure that
the site is used only for those purposes for which it was authorized
by Salt Lake.
Q. The event is tomorrow! Can't I just I ask the Webmaster to post something?
A. The Contact page will let you email the Webmaster directly.
However, this feature is intended to allow for questions and comments
about the site, reporting problems, etc. If a proposed event posting
is sent direcly to the Webmaster from the Contact page, the Webmaster will respond with a request that the procedure outlined above be followed. The Webmaster does not have the authority to approve events, just to post approved events. To expedite the process, please follow the above procedure. The process will naturally take time, so please plan ahead.
Q. Why isn't there a field for information about a point of contact
for an event?
A. Whenever a host stake provides a point of contact for an approved
event, that information will be included in the event's description.
Stakes sponsoring approved regional Single Adult events are encouraged to include that information. When it is, it will be placed in the event's description.
Q. If I subscribe to the site, how often should I expect emails? I don't
need more spam!
A. The plan is to update the front page and trigger an email once a month. If you wish to stop receiving emails from the site, please click on the "unsubscribe now" link that can be found at the bottom of an email from the site. If you prefer to unsubscribe via postal mail, write to the address found at the bottom of an email from the site.
Q. I'd like a new feature to be added to the site. Can I request it?
A. Certainly. New suggestions will be considered. They should be submitted through the Contact page. However, the site has been through an extensive development and review process. If a feature is desired, there is a good chance that it was already considered and not implemented for some reason, perhaps technical. Suggested new features may take time to be reviewed, and if approved, more time to be implemented. The webmaster is a volunteer, and maintains the site in his spare time.
